The Plot
After his initial defeat, the mad scientist Andross returns with a massive invasion force. This time, he doesn’t just want to conquer; he wants to wipe out Corneria entirely by launching giant interplanetary missiles from hidden bases across the system.
The Stakes
The General Pepper recalls the Star Fox team to lead a counter-offensive. For the first time, the team expands its roster to include two new female pilots, Miyu and Fay, bringing the total to six playable characters.
Key Mission Objectives
Unlike other entries, the story unfolds on a tactical map where time moves constantly:
The Final Showdown: Once the immediate threats are cleared, you take the fight to Andross’s new stronghold, Astropolis, for a final confrontation.
Defend Corneria: You must intercept incoming missiles and boss-class ships before they hit the planet’s surface (tracked by a damage percentage).
Neutralize the Star Wolf Team: Andross has hired a rival mercenary group—Star Wolf—specifically to hunt you down during your missions.
Infiltrate Enemy Bases: Using the new Walker transformation, you must enter and destroy the core of planet-based fortresses to dismantle Andross’s supply lines.
