Metroid Dread: il titolo raggiunge le 2.90 milioni di unità vendute, ed è il più venduto di sempre della serie

Nintendo ha pubblicato i dati finanziari di marzo 2022, rivelando il raggiungimento delle 2.90 milioni di unità vendute per Metroid Dread, ora il più venduto della serie.
Parliamo chiaro e tondo, Metroid non è mai stata una serie straordinariamente popolare, ma nel tempo si è creata una sua discreta di nicchia di appassionati, che seguono le avventure della stupenda cacciatrice di taglie spaziale Samus Aran, sin dai tempi di NES e SNES, con Metroid e Super Metroid, fino ad arrivare all’ultima avventura su Nintendo Switch, ovvero Metroid Dread.
Le vendite dei precedenti capitoli (totali al netto di marzo 2022) parlano abbastanza chiaro, e vedono una serie che non ha quasi mai superato le due milioni di unità per un singolo capitolo, ad eccezione del primissimo Metroid e il primo Metroid Prime per Nintendo Gamecube.

L’ultima avventura della procace Samus ha sfatato questi numeri, riuscendo in nemmeno sei/sette mesi dal lancio su Nintendo Switch, a demolire tutte le certezze ed imporsi come titolo più venduto del brand, riuscendo addirittura ad avvicinarsi alla quota di 3 milioni di copie vendute in tutto il mondo, cosa impensabile (probabilmente anche per la Grande N) e mai riuscita in 36 anni per la serie.
Il nuovo capitolo in 2D della bella cacciatrice di taglie spaziale, Samus Aran, è stato pubblicato lo scorso 8 ottobre 2021 sui Nintendo Switch europei e americani.

New modes let you ease into ZDR, experience true dread, or take on a boss gauntlet
If this is your first time sprinting and shooting as Samus, the new Rookie Mode increases health gained from items and decreases damage from bosses. Bounty Hunters looking for a true challenge can face the new Dread Mode, which can be unlocked if the Hard Mode is finished. Complete the game to unlock Boss Rush* and fight Samus’ most formidable foes one-after-another to try to get the best time possible!
A new Samus amiibo™ figure featuring her suit from Metroid Dread and an E.M.M.I. amiibo figure are available in a 2-pack set. Scan the Samus amiibo for an extra energy tank to increase your health by 100; additionally, the Samus amiibo can be tapped again to receive health once per day. The E.M.M.I. amiibo grants Samus a Missile Plus tank, increasing her missile capacity by 10; additionally, the E.M.M.I. amiibo can be tapped again to replenish some missiles once per day.
